Jews, Israel, Arabs and Jesus Christ, the Bible

It is a fact that if you base even your Christian theology on the Old Testament alone you will be in serious error. Major error.    http://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2013/03/18/left-out-of-the-kingdom-of-god-jews-included/

The Romans kicked out almost all of the Jews from Israel in the first century.. the Jewish language, Hebrew was no longer spoken there next. Most governments today outside Israel claim Israel’s land expansion after 1948  has been illegal. During the seventh century prior to 1948 Arab armies conquered most of the Middle East, including the land now variously called Israel, Palestine and the Holy Land (some 10,000 square miles). This area, including Jerusalem, became part of the Ottoman Empire and was largely under Muslim control until the early 1900’s. Over this period most of the population gradually accepted Islam and so by the mid 19th century  Israel was occupied by some 400,000 Muslims, 75,000 Christians and 25,000 Jews and  the early 20th century the land was a mix of many peoples representing some 50 languages? In the 2nd century AD, the Romans renamed Judea as ‘Palaestina’ in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Roman Emperor Hadrian began using the term ‘Palestine’ for the whole Land of Israel, and this term has prevailed over the centuries. The final term ‘Palestine’ came to prominence after the Balfour Declaration in 1917, when shortly after this the British were given a ‘Palestine Mandate’. The 1922 Mandate  recognised the existence of a ‘Palestinian people’ , a local Arab population of non-Jewish communities. Naturally the Jews differ on all of this. Soley only old Testament Bible verses are used to try to justify the Jewish claim to their once promised Land since the New Testament clearly  does not formally recognize their right to the land anymore. The Old Testament Bible instructs the people of Israel how they should treat foreigners (non-Jews). Old Testament Israel was commanded to love foreigners and to let them live normal lives amongst them (Deut 10.19):”When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall do him no wrong … (he) … shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself …” (Lev 19.33,34) “And they (strangers) shall be to you as the native-born among the sons of Israel; they shall be allotted an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.” (Ezek 47.22)  Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!( Psalms 133:1) The Jews of today do put up any false excuse as to why  they cannot live with others, Palestinians, Arabs in Israel.

  1. It is generally agreed that the historical Jesus primarily spoke Aramaic,[1] perhaps along with some Hebrew and Greek (although there is some debate as to the degree[2]). The towns of Nazareth and Capernaum, where Jesus lived, were primaril…y Aramaic-speaking communities, although Greek was widely spoken in the major cities of the Eastern Mediterranean such as Antioch and Alexandria. Jesus may have also known enough Hebrew to discuss the Hebrew Bible, and he may have known Koine Greek through commerce in nearby Sepphoris. Aramaic, as a Semitic language, was a common language of the Eastern Mediterranean during and after the Neo-Assyrian, Neo-Babylonian, and Achaemenid Empires (722 BC – 330 BC). Aramaic remained a common language of Palestine in the 1st century AD, despite the subsequent Macedonian-Greek (331 BC) and Roman (63 BC) invasions. Indeed, in spite of the increasing importance of Greek, the use of Aramaic was also expanding, and it would eventually be entirely dominant among Jews both in Palestine and elsewhere in the Middle East around 200 AD;[3] it would remain so until the Arab conquest in the 7th century.   Most of the apostles from the Galilee region also spoke Aramaic. The message of Christianity spread (primarily among Jewish Aramaic-speaking enclaves) throughout Judaea, Syria and Mesopotamia, and even to Kerala, India in Aramaic (or Syriac; Aram is the Hebrew word for Syria).[8] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aramaic_of_Jesus
  2. SO THE HEBREW LANGUAGE AT THE TIME OF JESUS FOR ALL PURPOSES DIDN’T EXIST?   It is a documented fact that when the Ten Tribes of Joseph, known as “Israel or Ephraim,” were taken into “captivity” in c.800 BCE by Assyria, they ceased to exist as a seperate people because they lost their use of their Aramaic/Hebrew language and their sense of Israelite tribal identity. http://home.earthlink.net/~ecorebbe/id45.html
